Abstract :

Breast cancer (BC) is one of the widespread diseases of the women. Every year worldwide about 700 thousand new cases of BC are registered. In spite of the high rates of early diagnostic abilities, 30-50 % of aff ected women refer to medical care in third stage of disease that is when they have locally advanced (LA) BC. In this connection morphologic verifi cation of diagnosis has not only diagnostic but prognostic value too. Objectives of our study were to evaluate the diagnostic capabilities of core-needle biopsy in patients with LA BC. Aft er standard diagnostic investigations (USS and mammography of mammary glands) of 41 women at the age of 30-75 years core-needle biopsy of aff ected mammary gland with further histological verifi cation, evaluation of malignancy rate and receptor status of tumour were performed. In research group 39 women had infi ltrating BC (II ? III degree of malignancy), 2 had intraductal BC with beginning infi ltration. In 29 women immunologic, histological and chemical investigation of tumour was performed: luminal type was found in 15 patients, in 13 patients result was negative and 1 patient had HER2/ neu type. Th e analysis of received data shows that core-needle biopsy can be used as primary diagnostic procedure in cases of LA BC. As a result clinician obtains a full value information about histological structure of tumour aft er low invasive procedure, which is good endured by patients.
