Biography

Muhammad J. Javed began his  undergraduate studies in 1992 at Wabash College, graduating Magna cum Laude with a double major in biology and religion.  In 1997, he matriculated to St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada.  In 2002, he began his pediatric residency training at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Peoria.  During this time, he secured a grant from the Children’s Miracle Network to study ionized magnesium in preterm infants.  In 2008, he completed his fellowship in neonatology from Indiana University and published a paper on endothelial and mesenchymal progenitor cells from preterm infants.  Since fellowship, he have been actively involved with resident education and curriculum development and was chosen to become the pediatric residency Associate Program Director.  In addition, he have also been involved in the creation of a standardized NICU teaching curriculum as well as a board review curriculum for the pediatric residents
