Volkmann

Biography

Dr. Volkmann received her M.D. from UCLA School of Medicine where she also completed her residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Rheumatology. During her fellowship, she participated in the Specialty Training and Advanced Research Program and earned her Master of Science degree in Clinical Research. Dr. Volkmann is an active clinical and translational researcher with a special focus on systemic sclerosis; in particular, she investigates the pulmonary and gastrointestinal dimensions of this condition. She founded and co-directs the UCLA Connective Tissue Disease-Related Interstitial Lung Disease (CTD-ILD) Program and also leads the CTD Research Area at the UCLA Microbiome Center.
