Vishal Sethi

Biography

Sethi received a BEng Honours degree from the University of Nottingham in 2002. He subsequently joined Phoenix Aviation Ltd in Nairobi, Kenya as an aircraft maintenance engineer. In 2004, Dr Sethi received an MSc Thermal Power degree from Cranfield University where he was also awarded the "British Aerospace Companies" Prize. Dr Sethi completed his PhD in the Department of Power and Propulsion at Cranfield University in 2008. His PhD thesis is entitled "Advanced Performance Simulation of Gas Turbine Components and Fluid Thermodynamic Properties". His work was part of the European Cycle Program of the EU FP6 project VIVACE. Upon completion of his PhD, Dr Sethi joined the School of Engineering as a Research Fellow and was promoted to Lecturer in 2012. During his time at Cranfield, Dr Sethi has supervised 10+ PhD researchers, 40+ MSc researchers (a large number of whom have been awarded course prizes) and 8 Nuffield Students. He has also led the contribution of Cranfield University in several large EU FP7 projects including NEWAC, DREAM and the contribution of the Department of Power and Propulsion to the SGO-ITD of the CLEAN SKY project.
