Biography

Dr. Pope, chair of the Division of Rheumatology at Western University, is one of the world’s foremost rheumatology researchers, her work having impacted the care of patients with rheumatic diseases around the globe, particularly those with lupus and scleroderma. She is considered to be one of the few experts worldwide in systemic sclerosis (scleroderma) - a rare and debilitating disease that involves the hardening and tightening of the skin and connective tissues.  At the same time, Dr. Pope’s research activity is diverse.  Her staggering 237 peer-reviewed publications and 290 published abstracts cover an array of rheumatic conditions.
