Fashanu TA principal research interests lie in the fields of Computational and Environmental Fluid Mechanics. I am currently using computational visualization and optimum systems control techniques to: Model the transport and fate of aqueous phase contaminants in groundwater systems, Develop manuals of depths to safe underground drinking water in Nigerian Watersheds, Determine best fertilizer loading practice that preserves groundwater from nutrient pollution, Model hydrodynamic dispersion and fate of Non Aqueous Phase Liquids (NAPLs) contaminants in soils and water, Detect and locate leak(s) on pipelines, Determine optimum location of gas wells in natural gas reservoirs.
My future research plans are to use my expertise to further develop models that can be used to preserve the environment and optimize the development of mineral resources. My vision is to pioneer a Center for Environmental Conservation and Natural Resources Development in conjunction with government bodies, environmental agencies, mineral exploration firms and other stakeholders.
