Doctor Erik Bergman graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Ghent, Belgium in 1996. Immediately after graduating, he worked for several years at the service of Reproduction and Obstetrics of the Horse, directed by Prof. A. de Kruif. After a season as a reproductive specialist, having worked in Australia, Erik settled in Lienden. Here he was one of the founders of Lingehoeve Veterinary Medicine in 2000. Dr Bergman was in 2003. European Specialist Reproductive Horse (Diplomate ECAR). He was the first in the Netherlands scintigraphy in horses and was responsible for medical imaging. In this capacity he developed the first technology to bring the knee back of a horse through Contrast CT examination in view.
In 2008, Bergman was in the first batch, ISELP certified. For this, he made an exam at the ISELP (International Society of Equine Locomotor Pathology, an international organization for horse orthopedics led by Prof.JMDenoix). Since 2010 he is in the board of directors and co-directs this organization.
Bergman was recognized equine veterinarian and -keuringsdierenarts, which among other things means that are approved in principle will be automatically taken over by the insurance. Erik had in recent years in several major horse events (including the World Equestrian Games Caen in 2014 and European Championship in 2015) responsible for the clinical diagnostics and imaging (orthopedics) in horses.
