Edmund J Kayombo

Biography

Dr.Edmund J Kayombo born at Mlangali Village, Ludewa district Njombe Region in October 16, 1952. Obtained Diploma in Teachers Training College Dar-es-Salaam 1979, Bachelor of Education and Masters of Arts (Demography), Dar-es-Salaam University, 1984 and 1988 respectively, Tanzania and PhD in Socio-cultural Anthropology University of Vienna, Austria. He joined the Institute of Traditional Medicine, Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences in 1989. His research interests focus on the role of Traditional health practitioners on provision of healthcare with focus on HIV/AIDS , reproductive health and initiation of collaboration between conventional and traditional medicine practitioners.
