Biography

Dr. Andrew Y. C. Nee received his PhD, from the Institute of Science and Technology, Victoria University of Manchester (UMIST) in 1973. He joined the then University of Singapore in 1974. In 1982, he became the first recipient outside USA to receive the Outstanding Young Manufacturing Engineers Award from the Society of Manufacturing Engineers. In 1986, he was appointed Director of CAE/CAD/CAM Centre when it was first established, a position which he held until 1995. In 1989, he was promoted to full professorship.
