Emin Turkay Korgun

Biography

Emin Turkay Korgun was born on 25th March 1967 in Ankara, Turkey. In 1992 he graduated from Medical Biological Sciences at Istanbul University, Turkey. In 2002 he received his PhD degree in the Department of Histology and Embryology, Akdeniz University, Antalya, Turkey and Graz Medical University, Institute of Cell Biology, Histology and Embryology Austria. During the years 1994-2002 he was nominated as Research Assistant and from 2002 to 2006, he was Assistant Professor Doctor at the Department of Histology and Embryology, Akdeniz University. From 2006 till 2012, he was Associate Professor Doctor and since 2012, he has been Professor Doctor at the Department of Histology and Embryology, Akdeniz University, Antalya, Turkey. His research interest is focused on Placental stem cell, Normal and pathological placental development, the glucose metabolism in early developmental stages and Immunology of Reproductive Biology. Dr. Korgun has published over 40 peer-reviewed articles with an H-index of 13. He has got many book chapters from his research areas and served as a reviewer for various renowned journals
