Dr. Ana Teresa Freitas is currently working at Associate Professor (with Habilitation) at the Departemento de Informática of Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), Lisbon Technical University. His research interest includes My current research interests are centered in the areas of Computational Biology, Human genetics, Algorithms and Data Mining. The Knowledge Discovery and Bioinformatics group (KDBIO) where this research is developed is the most active and dynamic research group in his area, in Portugal, and integrates 10 PhDs, and approximately 25 grants, postdoctoral fellows and PhD students. Research in these areas has lead to several National projects and three European projects. I have coauthored about 88 papers in international journals and conferences in the areas of computational biology, bioinformatics and computer aided. I have participated in a number of programs and scientific committees of international conferences and I am a permanent reviewer of the main journals in the Computational Biology field, like Nucleic Acid Research, Bioinformatics Oxford journal, PlosOne, BMC Bioinformatics,. He is serving as an honorary reviewer for Transcriptomics: Open Access. He /she has authored of several research articles/books related to
