Abstract :

Purpose: To present all benefits & limitations of Premium IOLs & explore it’s future in cataract surgery Methods: Highlight our experiences at KING HAMAD UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL in Kingdom of Bahrain ð??§ð??­ between 2011 and 2015. Results: • Trifocals IOLs correct 95% of patients for distance achieving 6/12 or better • 85% glasses free for near • Residual Astigmatism of +,- 1.00D or less in 88% • Accommodative IOLs are glasses free in 10% only. Conclusion: Premium IOLs are significantly improved the post-operative usual outcome. Future developments of new premium IOLs designs that, provide spectacle independence & excellent visual outcome after cataract surgery.

Moemen Al Reefy is a renowned ophthalmology surgeon in Bahrain. He is the Head of Ophthalmology Dept. at King Hamad University Hospital Kingdom of Bahrain. He publishes many articles in reputed journals.
