Abstract :

Ocular Trauma Rounds- History taking, Visual assessments, ocular examinations and types of ocular trauma is basically a great deal in Ophthalmology. Based on the ocular visual examinations and emergent analysis of the case, the management of ocular trauma plays a major and important role in the Primary eye care.
Open globe trauma, Anterior chamber/ Posterior chamber trauma, Peri-orbital trauma and lacerations needs emergent care or management on time. Referrals should be considered on the urgent basis. Ocular trauma involves certain signs like hyphema, Iridodyalisis, peaked pupil, Conjuctival haemmorage, Deflated globe, Corneal abrasions and retinal detachment. Ocular trauma needs to be carefully managed and the clinical findings like CT scan , MRI, B-scan should be monitored carefully. Every single or minor finding in ocular trauma is important and unavoidable. Full retinal examination also plays a major part. Mainly, ocular trauma takes place in rural areas. These kind of patients should be referred on time if the treatment is not available in range.

Biography :

Neha Irfan has completed her Bachelors of Optometry from Jamia Hamdard, India. She has also done diploma of Optometry . She is the 2020 Student fellow from American Academy of Optometry(AAO) and current candidate for the fellow of American Academy of Optometry (FAAO). She has done international certification program on Orthokeratology from GOV. She’s been a part of multiple Workshops, conferences, seminars and short term courses. An Online platform known as Optometry Online Classes is also been assessed by her where she provides tutorials to the upcoming Optometrists.
