Abstract :

This method id used for treating neuro-ophthalmological disorders of the organ of vision caused by optic nerve atrophy; partial optic nerve atrophy; Leber's optic atrophy; optic neuritis; toxic optic neuropathies; traumatic optic neuropathies; pigmentary degeneration of retina; cortical blindness by administering a therapeutically effective amount of Donepezil hydrochloride or ARICEPT® according to a specifically designed technology, which has been used by the author for 15 years. A method of treating of the diseases of the organ of vision: neuropathy of various genesis, optic atrophy, pigmentary degeneration of retina in adults consisting in administering donepezil hydrochloride (ARICEPT®) in the dosage 2.5-5 mg, one or two times a day in 3-15 courses of treatment 20-25 days each. The treatment according to this method substantially improves visual functions. A method of treating of the diseases of the organ of vision: optic nerve atrophy in children at the age of 5 and over consisting in administering donepezil hydrochloride (ARICEPT®) in the dosage 0.625-1.5 mg, one or two times a day in 3-15 courses of treatment 20-25 days each. The treatment substantially improves visual functions.
