Abstract :

The main objective is to elaborate upon the various approaches that can be adopted for better outcomes of cataract surgery in compromised corneal conditions. The presentation discusses aspects of cataract surgery in high risk corneal conditions and also includes an overview of conditions of the cornea that have a bearing on the outcomes of cataract surgery. Discussions supported by video demonstrations will include approaches to cataract surgery in corneas compromised by ocular surface disease, opacities, low endothelial counts and pterygium. Videos will be presented which illustrate a range of procedures including phacoemulsification and MSICS performed in isolation or combined with keratoplasty.
