The purpose of this study is to disclose the adjunctive role of methotrexate for the posterior segment manifestations of FTAABS positive cases and Quantiferon positive cases showing partial resolution with specific therapy. Methods: 3 cases with FTAABS positive, VDRL and HIV negative, and 4 cases with Quantiferon positive and HIV negative status received either oral methotrexate for 6 months or intravitreal methotrexate injections after discontinuation or reduction of specific therapy. Flourescein angiography (FANG) and spectral domain optical coherence tomography (SD OCT)were used for the clinical follow-up. The follow-up period after cessation of methotrexate ranges from 6 months to 3 years. Results: The resolution of posterior segment manifestations both clinically and on FANG and SD OCT were noted. Conclusions: Adjunctive therapy with methotrexate is considered effective for the improvement posterior segment manifestations of FTAABS positive cases and Quantiferon positive cases having partial response to the specific therapy.
