Recently, the 5^th International Conference and Exhibition on Analytical and Bioanalytical Techniques: Analytica Acta-2014 took place in Beijing, China, August 18-20, 2014. This notable event was the result of a joint effort between the Omics publishing group, Omics conference department, scientists around a world, and the editorial boards of the journals Analytical and Bioanalytical Techniques, Pharmaceutical Analytica Acta and Journal of Chromatography and Separation Techniques.

The Analytica Acta meeting took place for the first time November 2010 in Hyderabad, India. This event joined together about 150 attendees. The second meeting took place in December 2011 in San Francisco, a third meeting returned to Hyderabad, India in November 2012 and grew to 200 attendees.

The 4^thAnalytica Acta meeting was held in November 2013 in Las Vegas, USA. In order to get better attention for this event, we decided to not conduct a separate meeting, and focused on chromatography – the Analytrix & HPLC. This conference was held for the first time in October 2012, Chicago USA, and was well supported by a local scientists, chromatography practitioners and Editorial Board members of the Journal of Chromatography and Separation Techniques. In Las Vegas around 120 scientists from 19 countries attended, 20 posters and 3 days of interesting presentations and productive conversations ensued.

The fifth Analytica Acta meeting was organized for the first time in the People’s Republic of China, Beijing. We had more than 100 attendees and 3 days of lectures and posters presented by scientists from China, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Nigeria, New Zealand, Poland, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, Taiwan, Turkey, UK and USA.

We often forget, that a conference – is not only a place where scientists present their research, provide plenary summaries and generally share their knowledge. From our experience we know that conferences are extremely productive for young scientists – they gain skills on how to present their work in a public forum, and as well as learn from senior scientists as role models, as well as new trends in the field. Another essential conference value – scientific networking, is typically overlooked by eager to learn young scientists. I cannot express enough how productive and valuable discussions after lectures really are!

Writing this editorial, I would like to invite our readers to the next Analytica -2015 meeting that will be in Valencia, Spain in early September next year. We are planning a productive and interesting meeting, and the support of our scientific community is essential. As the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Chromatography and Separation Techniques, I would like remind our Editorial Board members that our goal is to maintain high scientific standards for our journal together. This includes within the pages of our journal, as well as meetings sponsored by our journal.
