In 1996, he was appointed as head of the Virology program at VIDO-InterVac, where he worked on molecular characterization of DNA  viruses with the aim of developing them as vaccine delivery vehicles. In 2001, he was promoted as Senior scientist and Head of Vectored Vaccine program at VIDO, where he continued to work on molecular characterization and development of non human adenovirus based vaccine delivery vehicles. In 2008, he was appointed as Professor, Vaccinology and Immunotherapeutics program at School of Public Health, University of Saskatchewan. He has published over 85 peer reviewed manuscripts, 15 book chapter′s reviews and has been awarded 26 patents. His current research focus is on Virus cell interaction, Structure and function of viral proteins, Virus assembly and determining protein-protein interactions in non human adenoviruses with the aim of developing improved vaccine delivery vehicles for animals and humans.
