Dr.Suresh Peddigari, a Research Associate in the department of Internal Medicine, Hematology/Oncology division, University of Cincinnati, USA. I completed my masters in Biochemistry from Osmania University, Hyderabad, India. I am a recipient of prestigious Japanese government scholarship, Monbukagakusho for my doctoral studies in plant molecular biology at Kumamoto University, Japan. During my postdoctoral studies at University of Colorado Denver, I was studying to understand the biology of mammalianretrotransposable elements. My greatest contribution to the field is identification of two host proteins that regulate their activity in the host genome. My current research is to understand the mechanism of how ribosome biogenesis contributes to cancer cell proliferation, and to look for novel drugs with therapeutic potential for tumor suppression.
