Dr Pranil Kumar Upadhayaya (firstname.lastname@example.org) holds a PhD in Tourism, Conflict and Peace from Kathmandu University in association with the Swiss National Centre for Competence in Research (NCCR) North-South and the Master in Tourism Management from Purbanchal University, Nepal. He is a researcher and developer in tourism interconnecting it (tourism) with various cross cutting issues like peace, conflict, culture, landscape, economy, and environment. Till recently, he was engaged as a project coordinator in Partnership Actions for Mitigating Syndromes projects titled ‘Meeting the challenges of Peace-building in Tourism: Strengthening the Corporate Social Responsibility and Tourism Ethical Code of Conducts’ in Pokhara and ‘Developing a Community based Tourism Model’ in Machhapuchhre Model Trek (a new trekking destination) in Mt. Annapurna region towards the north of Pokhara, Nepal. In these projects, he was testing the peace potential of tourism by tempting the cooperation between science and society in transdesciplinary model of research. Code of conducts for peace responsive tourism, tourism and peace, responsible tourism, eco tourism, alternative tourism, and tourism, its changes and sustainable development are the subjects of his further research interest.
