Biography

Dr. Piotr Czarnocki obtained his M.Sc degree from the Faculty of Power and Aeronautical Engineering, Warsaw University of Technology, Warsaw, Poland in 1974. The Thesis concerned modeling of 2D nonlinear flatter of wings. He obtained his Ph.D degree from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Waterloo, Waterloo, Ont. Canada in 1986. The Thesis concerned strength analysis of adhesive joints. In 1986, He became a university teacher. Also, since than he participated in several industry project concerning design of prototype airframe composite components. In 1990-1991, he was a post-doctoral fellow in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Waterloo. Since 1992, he has been lecturing on airframe design at the Warsaw University of Technology. In 2006, he finished his habilitation. The monograph was on delamination of laminates with polymeric matrixes. Currently he is serving as a professor in the Faculty of Power and Aeronautical Engineering, Warsaw University of Technology, Warsaw, Poland and a professor in the Institute of Aviation Warsaw, Poland.
