Dr. Chan obtained his PhD in medical science from the University of Calgary and post-doctoral training in Clinical Chemistry & Lab Medicine from the University of Toronto. He is a certified Clinical Biochemist, and a Fellow with the Canadian Academy of Clinical Biochemists as well as a Diplomate with the American Board of Clinical Chemistry in both Clinical Chemistry & Molecular Diagnostics. Dr. Chan is currently the Head (Interim), Division of Biochemistry at the Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto, Canada. He lectures at the University of Toronto and speaks regularly at Canadian and international conferences. His research interests include practice-based research on monoclonal gammopahy investigations, biomarkers in vascular dementia and POCT in tertiary care. He has some 70 peer-reviewed publications.
