Dr. Scantlebury has worked in tourism since 1985 in senior management positions with the Barbados Tourism Authority and as a consultant/manager with Ernst & Young and Coopers & Lybrand (Caribbean) Consultants Inc. in their Caribbean consulting practices. Michael joined the faculty of Grand Valley State University Summer 2010 as an Associate Professor in the HTM department.
His PhD from the University of Waterloo, focused on heritage tourism. He holds BA and M.Phil degrees and a Certificate in Tourism Studies.
