Biography

Marc Edery received his PhD 1981 in biology and biochemistry from the University of Paris France. After graduating he joined the cancer research laboratory at UC Berkeley and then the Hormone research laboratory at UCSF USA where he has spent four years. He then joined the INSERM in Paris France in 1985 where he was interested in the field of research of endocrine related diseases in several species including humans. He is now Director of research at the National Museum of Natural History in Paris. He is one of the editorial members in the journal TOXICON. He serves as a reviewer of peerreviewed journals in the area of toxicology and proteomics.

Research Interest

Beside his forensic work his main research interest is now devoted to the mechanisms of action of cyanotoxins in fish. During the past years, he has developed a fish model, medaka to analyse toxicity of cyanotoxins as well as some other toxins like plant toxins. In order to obtain a global view of the mechanisms of action of cyanotoxins, he has started pioneering work on toxicoproteomics in medaka fish. He is author of more than 130 scientific articles.
