Kimberly B. Heidal is an Associate Professor in the Department of Nutrition Science and is Adjunct Faculty in the Department of Kinesiology at East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina. She consults with corporations in the DC area. Dr. Heidal received both of her BS degrees and Masters in Health Science from Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, North Carolina. Her PhD was obtained in Human Nutrition from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln in 2003. She is engaged in the university committee and serves on numerous departmental and university committees. Dr. Heidal is an active member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and the American Society for Nutrition. She has authored numerous peer reviewed articles on a variety of nutrition related topics that were published in journals including the Journal of the American Dietetic Association, Journal of American College Health, the Sport Journal, and Advances in Medical Sciences. Dr. Heidal has presented at FASEB for the past 8 years and is an active member of the USDA NC-1199 omega-3 fatty acid research group.
