Biography

Dr. Grazyna Adamus is a Professor of Ophthalmology and Graduate Neuroscience at School of Medicine, Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, Oregon. She received her MS in biochemistry from the University of Wroclaw, Poland and a PhD in immunology from the Institute of Immunology and Experimental Therapy, Poland. She has published 84 peer-reviewed papers, 8 book chapters, and 4 reviews. She is a Director of Ocular Immunology Laboratory OHSU, which provides autoantibodies testing for autoimmune and paraneoplastic retinopathies and optic neuropathies. She belongs to professional societies, including American Association of Immunologists, American Association for the Advancement of Science, International Society of Neuroimmunology, and the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology. She has been regularly reviewing basic science and clinical research manuscripts for over 20 journals related to vision and immunology. She serves as a reviewer for the National Institute of Health Study Sections and other granting organizations.

Autoimmunity, neuroimmunology, pathophysiology, and immunochemistry of retinal diseases and paraneoplastic syndromes Autoimmune uveitis in human and animal models, role of T cells, chemokines and cytokines, Retinal degenerations in autoimmune retinopathies mediated by autoantibodies, including cancer-associated retinopathies (CAR) and melanoma-associated retinopathy (MAR) Biologic treatments for eye diseases Non-invasive stem cell therapy in treatment of retinal degeneration and vascular pathology.
