Fu Chen is an assistant research scientist in Department of Chemistry, The University of Iowa, USA. He has received PhD in Chemistry from The University of Alberta, Canada in 2009 and completed his BSc at Nanjing University, China in 2001. From 2009 to 2011, he was a postdoctoral research fellow at Leiden University, The Netherlands and from 2011 to 2012, he was a postdoctoral research associate at The Ames Laboratory, USA. His scientific record includes over 10 peer-reviewed papers and over 30 conference abstracts and proceedings. He has also served as a reviewer for over 15 journals and is currently as an editorial member for 2 journals.
Research interests focus on using both solution- and solid-state NMR spectroscopy to study: 1) pharmaceutical compounds and small molecules; 2) inorganic materials including organometallic compounds, zeolites, porous media, hydrides, catalysts, nanoparticles, etc.; 3) HRMAS NMR investigations of polymers, gels, tissues, liquid crystals, etc.
