Dr. Gerhard Carl Hildebrandt is currently the Medical Director of the Blood and Marrow Transplant Program at the University of Utah School of Medicine and a Huntsman Cancer Institute Investigator. His clinical interest are the treatment of hematologic malignancies and autologous and allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation. His research focuses on the development of graft versus host disease and acute and chronic lung injury in allogeneic transplant recipients, aiming to bring results from the bench to the bedside. He is member of ASH, ASBMT, ASCO, AACR and others, and serves as reviewer on numerous peer-reviewed journals. He obtained is medical degree from the Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz, Germany, and did his postgraduate training in Internal Medicine and in Hematology and Oncology at the University of Regensburg, Germany. Prior, he was Director of the Blood and Marrow Transplant Program at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center – Shreveport, Louisiana.
Dr. Gerhard Carl Hildebrandt research interests includes Allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation – acute and chronic graft versus host disease – acute and chronic lung injury.
