Dinesh D Dodamgoda

Biography

Dinesh D. Dodamgoda, the current Executive Director of the International Centre for Promoting Reconciliation (ICPR), is a lawyer in profession and has obtained an M.Sc. from the British Royal Military College of Science, Shrivenham (Cranfield University) on Defence Management and Global Security. He is a final year Ph.D. candidate on International Relations (legitimisation and de-legitimisation of political violence: the role and power of the mass media) at the Centre for Terrorism and Political Violence (CSTPV), University of St Andrews, Scotland. Furthermore, he is a Fulbright Scholar on National Security Policy and a member of the State Alumni. Mr. Dodamgoda was a news journalist and personally witnessed the Sri Lankan conflict as a defence correspondent. Furthermore, he served as a Member of Parliament in Sri Lanka (1995 – 2000) and pioneered  in setting up the Sri Lankan Parliamentary Lobby for Children’s Rights.
