Biography

Benjamin D. Schanker is the Co-Director of the Quality Improvement and Patient Safety Organization at Harvard Medical School and Co-Director of the Cushing Neurosurgical Society. He is a Laboratory Coordinator at Boston University’s Department of Health Sciences and a Clinical Ethicist. He completed a B.S. in Human Physiology at Boston University, where he graduated as Valedictorian, and a B.A. in Biology with distinction in Biotechnology Research. He has served as a Researcher and Ethicist at Johns Hopkins Berman Institute of Bioethics and Boston University’s School of Public Health, Department of Health Law, Bioethics, and Human Rights. He currently serves as an editorial member for several reputable publications and a reviewer for numerous bioethics journals. He received the “Outstanding Contribution to Bioethics” Award from the University of Pennsylvania and the Phi Beta Kappa Award in Natural Sciences. He has published numerous articles in the fields of bioethics, biotechnology, and clinical research.
