Graduated in Medicine in the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro , Master in Psychiatry and Mental Health by the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and PhD by Federal University of Rio de Janeiro . Post-doctorade in the Laboratory of Respiratory Physiology of the Carlos Chagas Filho Biophysic Institute during 1997 and 1998. Habilitation in Psychiatry Livre-Docência in 2004 by the Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro. He has published various scientific articles in international journals with high impact factor. He is coordinator of the Rio de Janeiro Center of the National Institute for Translational Medicine.
