Biography

Ana García-Blanco obtained her Bachelor´s degree in Psychology at the University of Murcia (Spain) in 2007. Between 2008 and 2012 she completed her Clinical Psychology residency at “La Fe Polytechnic and University Hospital” in Valencia (Spain). She enjoyed two foreign fellowships at the Roberto Clemente Center at New York University School of Medicine (New York, USA) in 2011 and at the European Institute for Systemic Training and Consultancy (Rome, Italy) in 2012. She received her PhD on “Emotional Processing in Bipolar Disorders” by the University of Valencia (Spain) in 2014. She was a recipient of the best dissertation award in Psychology, awarded by the University of Valencia, where she currently works as Associate Professor in the Department of Personality, Evaluation and Psychological Treatment. In 2015 she obtained a grant from the Instituto Carlos III (Spanish Ministry of Economy and Innovation) and joined the “La Fe Health Research Institute”. Currently her research is focusing on the influence of epigenetic factors, in terms of stress biomarkers and dysfunctional environment on emotional dysregulation, which is understanding as a tangential syndrome to many mental disorders. She has published scientific manuscripts for high-impact journals and has also contributed to the peer review of several journals.
