Biography

Dr Hameed’s expertise is in weapon system design (both direct and indirect fire) and integration.He has an international reputation as a teacher, having presented in America, Europe, and the Middle East and the Far East. He is a first class administrator with a keen eye for detail and the energy and enthusiasm to see issues through to conclusion. He is an excellent researcher and research supervisor, who has a good publications record. He has a dynamic personality with an enviable track record of success. He Is currently involved in lecturing various aspects of gun technology and vehicle protection to the following short courses: Ballistics course for the UK MOD and BAE Systems, UK; Guns and Ammunition, Lethality and Survivability course (TACOM USA); Defence Technology course to Jordan, System Engineering Architectural Design and Integration to DESG course, MOD, UK. Guns and Ammunition course for YPG, USA, AFV Design course for DSTA, Singapore and Defence Technology course for UAE Armed forces. During the MSc project phase he has supervised various design studies on the design of cannon, future lightweight direct fire and indirect fire weapon systems. Recently he was appointed Programme Director of the Engineering Suite of courses which includes Weapon and Vehicle Systems MSc, Gun Systems Design and Military Vehicle Technology MSc course.
