    The concept of resignification, derived from the Latin roots re-(again) and significare (to give meaning), encompasses the process of reinterpreting or giving new significance to existing meanings. While traditionally rooted in semantics and linguistic theory, its application spans a range of disciplines, including the humanities, arts, social sciences and natural sciences. This essay explores the historical evolution of resignification, its role in the reinterpretation of cultural texts and artifacts, its transformative potential in social contexts and its therapeutic implications for human development.
