Weon Young Son

Biography

Dr. Son is the laboratory director at McGill University Health Center (MUHC) Reproductive Center, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Royal Victoria Hospital, McGill University, Montreal, Quebec, Canada. He obtained a PhD degree from Sogang University, Seoul, Korea, in 2000. Dr. Son has more than 20 years of experience in clinical embryology. In 1992, Dr. Son started work as a clinical embryologist at CHA Infertility Center (Seoul, Korea), and then in 2000 Dr. Son moved to Maria Infertility Hospital (Seoul, Korea) as IVF Laboratory Director. In 2003, Dr. Son joined the McGill Reproductive Centre (present: MUHC Reproductive Centre in Montreal, Canada, as a Senior Clinical Embryologist and Dr. Son has been the Laboratory Director of the MUHC Reproductive Centre since 2008.   Dr. Son serves as an Associate Editor in Human Reproduction (2014-2015) and he is an Editorial Board member in several societies and journals related with the IVF field. He also serves as a reviewer in international journals such as Human Reproduction, Fertility & Sterility, Reproduction, PLoS One, RBM online, Journal of Assisted Reproduction and Genetics, Reproductive Biology and Endocrinology, European J of OB/GYN and Reprod biology, Scandinavian J of OB/GYN, Minerva OB/GYN, J of reproduction and endocrinology, The Scientific World Journal, International Journal of Fertility and Sterility.
