He was awarded PhD Mechanical Engineering with specialization in Solar Thermal Engineering from Panjab University Chandigarh, India in the year 2006. He holds a Master Degree (MSc) in Mechanical Engineering (Thermal Environmental Engineering) from Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, Punjab, India in the year 1993. He has extended his valuable service as a Professor & Head, Department of Mechanical Engineering at Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, India and Visiting Research Faculty, Department of Mechanical Engineering at North Dakota State University, USA since 2011. His international experience includes various programs, contributions and participation in different countries for diverse fields of study. His research interests as a Professor reflect in his wide range of publications in various national and international journals. He is the Editorial Board Member of reputed journals and serves as a member of various associations, apart from being an author for many books.
