Biography
Socrates Kaplanis is awarded PhD in Simulation Techniques for Radiation Studies University of Patra, Greece. in the 1981. He holds a Master Degree (MSc) in Nuclear Reactor Technology from Aston University in Birmingham in the 1972. He has extended his valuable service in (1978-present) he was a full Professor at the Technological Educational,Institute of Patra, Greece.In (1983-present) Currently, he is working President of the Technological Educational Institute of Patra, Greece.
Research Interest
Greenhouse heating through Solar collectors (liquid & air) with heat storage in ground, PV & Wind hybrid systems for Industrial and Agricultural applications,Intelligent Energy Buildings based on a holistic approach from passive solar techniques up to predictive management of Offer Demand of the system PV and Loads, Solar Radiation Prediction models, PV Performance under high Illumination levels,Solar Cooling by absorption systems, Research projects funded by the E.C. Programmes
e.g. COST 542 project,FP5, (ADEPT and VEGA projects), FP6 (CRISTAL project) all concerning,Green Products and R.E.S. Technologies, Project leader to Integrate elements of the R.E.S,technologies into the Building Shells, Rational Uses of Energy.
