Piercarlo Sarzi-Puttini graduated in Medicine from the University of Parma (Italy) (1981). He underwent specialist training in Rheumatology at the University of Milan (1985). He has also acquired the specialty in Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation (1989) and Internal Medicine (1994). Since 1994 he worked as assistant and later as consultant at the Rheumatology Unit, L. Sacco University Hospital in Milan, Italy.
