Dr. Majithia grew up in Virginia Beach. His interest in medicine came from his father, a business owner who enjoyed the sciences and, at one time, aspired to be a doctor. In 1999, Majithia was one of seven high school students accepted into a program that guaranteed direct admission into medical school. After three years of undergraduate study at Old Dominion University, he graduated in 2002 with highest honors.
