Raffaele Landolfi, MD, is University Professor of Internal Medicine and "Polo Emergency Coordinator (DEA) and Internal Medicine" as well as "Director of Emergency Medicine and Internal Medicine." Until October 2015 he held the position of Director of the Department of Medical Sciences and of 'Complex Operative Unit of Clinical Medicine. And 'specialist in Internal Medicine and Hematology. His clinical training, research and teaching has developed at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart and for a period of two years at Brown University in Providence, RI USA. In the latter period he has obtained a license to practice medicine in the United States.
His main research interests are the alterations of the hemostatic system in the course of various pathologies of hematology and internal medicine and the role of antiplatelet agents and anticoagulants in the prevention of thrombosis. He has published over 150 papers in international journals and has been a speaker at several national and international conferences. He always lectured teaching Internal Medicine as part of the degree course in Medicine and the School of Specialization in Internal Medicine who directs since 2010. He has extensive experience gained working for years in internal medicine departments and clinics directing intern and medical divisions. In these different contexts he has always promoted the group discussion and multidisciplinary complex cases and enhancement of the doctor patient relationship.
