Dr Eggleton trained in Medical Microbiology, Biochemistry and Immunology at the Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine and Royal College of Surgeons of England under the supervision of Professors Godfrey Smith, Derick Fisher and Neville Crawford. Dr Eggleton‘s research interest focuses on the understanding of innate and adaptive immunity in the pathology of autoimmune disease (systemic lupus erythematosus, rheumatoid arthritis and multiple sclerosis) and more recently, cancer, with a special interest in the role of endoplasmic reticulum chaperone proteins (calreticulin/calnexin).
