Dr. Nader Maroufi holds a PhD in Physiotherapy and is an Associate Professor at IUMS with over 25 years of experience in clinical practice, teaching and research in field of Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy in Iran.In 1989, Dr. Maroufi began his career working with patients suffering from musculoskeletal injuries in an out-patient clinic setting, following graduation from physiotherapy school in Iran. He continued his education, receiving his MSc in Physiotherapy (IUMS) in 1992 during which his studies and clinical practice focused on spinal disorders and enhancing his knowledge and skills in manual assessment and treatment of patients with postural mal-alignment, spinal dysfunctions and pain disorders. Dr. Maroufi continued his education on clinical biomechanics of the spine and postural control in nonspecific low back pain patients and received his PhD in Physiotherapy in 2005, following which he worked in clinical practice, teaching and research focusing on postural and motor control dysfunction in patients suffering from chronic mechanical spinal pain. His contribution to academia began in 1990 at IUMS, where he was a Physiotherapy professor and instructor in orthopedics, manual therapy, exercise therapy, postural control & movement control at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Between January 2002 and May 2015 he trained more than 450 post-graduate specialists in the field of manipulative and exercise therapy utilizing a comprehensive clinical decision making process model for Physiotherapy in Iran. In addition, Dr. Maroufi has produced a series of 7 DVDs covering 650 manual therapy assessment and treatment techniques in the Farsi language.
