Brand joined the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Science faculty in 2008 as an Associate Professor. Prior to 2008 he served as the Mental Health Recovery Coordinator at the Oklahoma City VA. From 2002 to 2007. Brand was Assistant Professor of Research in Department of Health Promotion Sciences in the College of Public Health. He continues to hold an adjunct appointment in the College of Public Health. As a licensed clinical social worker, Brand specializes in the treatment of mood disorders, psychological trauma, substance use disorders and the psychosocial management of pain and illness. He has over 25 years of experience as a clinician, educator and researchers. Brand provides individual, marital and family and group psychotherapy.
