Biography
 He is affiliated to the Department of Renewable Energy, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Malaysia. He was a mechanical engineer with Malayan Railway before he joined Universiti Teknologi Malaysia as an Assistant Lecturer in 1975. He obtained his BSc and MSc degrees from University of Strathclyde, Glasgow and a PhD degree from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh. He was appointed as a lecturer, associate professor and a professor (2002). After serving as Dean of UTM Research Management Centre (RMC) he was seconded to Malaysia Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment (MOSTE 1995-1997) as a Deputy Director General. On returning from MOSTE he was appointed to hold several administrative posts – Dean of School of Professional and Continuing Education (SPACE), Dean of Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Director of RMC for a second time, Chairman of UTM Council of Professor, Member of UTM Board of Directors and presently as Director of UTM Ocean Thermal Energy Centre. He is an expert on HVAC and refrigerant rotary compressor. He has four patents granted and two more pending. He received a National Intellectual Property Award in 2006 and Special Excellent Service Award in 2007. He was awarded Innovation Champion by Malaysia Ministry of Higher Education in 2010. He established and becomes a director of one spin-off company that commercializes product of one of his research work. Upon retirement in 2006 Professor Musa was reappointed to serve the university as a contract professor for three consecutive terms of three years each.
