Biography

Dr. Marroquin Galvez completed his medical school in Francisco Marroquin University School of Medicine; a Guatemalan native he trained in New York City where he excelled in his residency program. He was exposed to difficult cases and was able to acquire excellent skills in the care and management of complex patients. During his residency at the Bronx-Lebanon Hospital, affiliate of Albert Einstein Medical College, he was awarded The Moreau Award for Surgical Excellence and the 2013 Ob-Gyn Resident of the Year. Through the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists (AAGL), he was awarded the opportunity to learn the techniques of the Minimally invasive laparoscopic and robotic surgery at Saint Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital in New York City. He is a member of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ACOG), Wyoming Medical Society, and the American Medical Association and has done research and presented projects in the USA and internationally. During his training in Guatemala Dr. Marroquin Galvez was exposed to the traditional methods of Mayan deliveries. He was actively involved in the Mayan midwifery training; his passion for Obstetrics was born and was perfected by combining both old and new world techniques. Dr. Marroquin Galvez enjoys teaching and mentoring the future generation of physicians. He was chosen for the Teaching Excellence Award by the Albert Einstein Medical School in New York City. Currently, he is involved in the clerkship of the University of Washington Medical School; you may see him directing and teaching their medical students.
