Markus Haider

Biography

He was awarded PhD in Simulation of circulating fluidized bed boilers from Vienna University of Technology, Austria. Markus Haider serves as Head of the Institute of Thermodynamics and Energy Conversion at the Vienna University of Technology and Head of the Research area in Thermodynamics and Thermal Engineering. Prof. Dr. Haider joined his institute as Professor in 2006 after an impressing career in the electric power industry. He joined CNIM group, a leading provider of turnkey industrial solutions. His task ranged from development and project planning (ACFB, La Seyne), Development PCFB (in co-operation with Foster Wheeler, San Diego, USA) to Technical Head of division Babcock Entreprise and Babcock Wanson (Paris). After 10 years in CNIM group, Markus joined GE Energy Belfort France for the upcoming 3 years as Head of project planning of gas turbine power plants. He serves as Chairman of the Supervisory Board at HELIOVIS AG. Prof. Dr. Haider studied mechanical engineering at the Vienna University of Technology.
