Biography
She graduated MBChB from the University of Edinburgh in 1977. She also underwent orthopaedic surgical training in Edinburgh. She was appointed as Senior Lecturer in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery of the University in 1987. In 1994 she was appointed as a Consultant Orthopaedic Trauma Surgeon and part-time Senior Lecturer to the first full-time orthopaedic trauma post in Scotland, a post she currently holds. Professor McQueen’s professional life has been dominated by the promotion of evidence-based medicine in orthopaedic trauma.
