Maigun Edhborg

Dr. Maigun Edhborg is a Professor at the department of Neurobiology, Care Science, and Society of Karolinska institute (KI), Sweden. She is teaching in KI since 1998. She was the academic leader and pedagogic coordinator at the Unit for Public Health and Nursing in a life course perspective in KI during 2006 – 2007. She is a registered nurse and pursued Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from Stockholm University; Diploma in Public Health from Nordic School in Public Health, Gothenburg; MPhil in Reproductive and perinatal caring from Karolinska Institute; and doctoral degree in medical science from Karolinska Institute. Prof. Maigun is experienced in receiving and managing grants of several research projects on parental mental health, maternal neonatal and child health, and children’s mental health. She is the initiator and coordinator of many collaborative research projects with universities, government and non-government organizations in Europe and Asia. A number of students have completed PhD under her supervision. She has publications in the reputed peer-reviewed international journals. She is the reviewer of a many of international public health and psychiatric journals.
