Lise Høj Thomsen has completed a company project at Hvidovre Hospital. She took part in a research project on the risk of infection by a staphylococcus, found that there’s a lot competition for research positions in this field because human biology is also studied in many other study programmes, such as medicine and biochemistry. This is partly why Lise decided to do a company project:”It seemed a good idea to take a project out into a company to increase my chances of getting a job in my field.”Lise says her company project has had many benefits. For example, she’s experienced what it’s like to work in a hospital, and gained a number of contacts that will be useful to her in the future. Although the company she worked with didn’t have any vacant positions at the time, Lise is confident her efforts to make contacts in the company will pay dividends, for instance in the form of a student job.
