He holds a medical degree (1988), a master's degree in medicine (2007) and a doctorate in medicine (2012) from the Federal University of Minas Gerais - UFMG and holder of the Brazilian College of Surgeons. He is currently Clinical Director, Chair of the Ethics Committee, Head of the General and Laparoscopic Surgery Service, President of the Center for Studies and Research, Surgeon of the General and Laparoscopic Surgery Service of the Madre Teresa Hospital of Belo Horizonte; General surgeon of the Hospital Júlia Kubitschek and assistant professor of surgery department of Belo Horizonte -unibh university center.
